Memories: A Health Tip

Christmas is nearly here. For some, it is a magical time. Filled with laughter, love, family, worship and praise. For others, it can be a sad, lonely or confusing time of year.

 

Living a life of health and wellness is more than just knowing what to eat and drink. At times we need tips (pep talks perhaps) to help us maintain a healthy mind and soul. So, here is a different spin on a healthy habit.

 

Memories. Good or bad we can't hide from them. So instead, welcome them in. Like an old friend you haven't seen in a while. Say hi. Acknowledge they had an impact on your life. Then, you either give them a hug and invite them to stay around. Or, you politely say goodbye and show them to the door. Either is ok. You choose.

 

You are not your past.

 

You are not your memories.

 

Yes, they are a part of you, but they do not define you. It's ok to walk away, sweet friend. It’s ok to never to give that memory power or influence over you -- ever again.

 

You are too special.

 

You are too important.

 

You have too much to contribute to this world to live being held back by the past.

 

Let go my friend. Let the past hurts, the past rejections, the past everything stay behind you. Look to the future.

 

After all, isn't that the direction you're heading?
